Architecture
Rotterdam is more a city of architecture than a city of monuments. During the World War II most of the buildings that would now be monuments were destroyed. Nevertheless, you will find buildings and sculpture of famous artists and architects throughout the city.
Harbors
During Holland's Golden Age Rotterdam developed into an important international port and center of trade. The world's number 1 port consists of various harbors. All of them a hive of activity twenty-four hours a day.
Museums
As befits a city of extremes, the selection of museums in Rotterdam is as varied as extensive. Every conceivable cultural or social cultural theme has its own temple, presenting tangible and virtual collections.
Galeries
So many people, so many tastes: Rotterdam's many galleries and exhibition locations give a good indication of the diversity of art forms and movements. It is always tremendously interesting to see the current exhibitions, certainly if you are interested in purchasing. The galleries are often located in colorful neighbourhoods, where you would not be likely to go otherwise. Once found, you will discover a unique part of Rotterdam!
