The Hague - Red Cross City

For one year from September 2007 to September 2008 The Hague will be a Red Cross City.

The Municipality of The Hague and the Netherlands Red Cross are combining their efforts to raise funds in support of victims in conflict areas.

The proceeds from the 'Den Haag Rode Kruis-stad' campaign will help the Netherlands Red Cross assist displaced persons and refuges from Somalia, Sudan and Chad. Due to long-standing conflicts in these areas millions of people have had to flee their homes and are urgently in need of assistance.

Throughout the world the Red Cross provides aid to victims of (natural) disasters or armed conflict. The Red Cross provides affected people with basic necessities such as food, water, shelter, clothing and medical attention.

Read here how you can get involved  in the campaign and make a difference in the victims' lives.
